Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been promised a whopping sum of ₦20m if they beat Cape Verde in their second game of the 2022 World Cup Qualifying campaign.
The Super Eagles started their campaign with a 2-0 win over Liberia and will hope to back it up with another victory against Cape Verde at the Estádio Municipal Adérito Sena in Mindelo on Tuesday.
The team landed at Cape Verde this morning via Airpeace airline, and the Chairman of the airline, Allen Onyema, has promised the squad a cash reward.
According to reports from one of the team’s media men, Tobi Adepoju, Onyema promised Gernot Rohr’s boys a sum of ₦20m if they beat Cape Verde on Tuesday.
It won’t be easy, though, as the three-time African champions will be missing eight key players from the team that beat Liberia last Friday.
The Super Eagles will be without the UK players, including the man of the match on Friday, Kelechi Iheanacho.
Torino striker Ola Aina has also been excused from the squad, leaving the team with just 21 players for the game at Mindelo on Tuesday.
