The flying winger has not featured for club and country in recent times after undergoing surgery which kept him out of action
Super Eagles youngster Samuel Chukwueze has returned to Villarreal first-team training after recovering from a crushing injury that forced him out of action for four months.
Chukwueze was one of the stars of Villarreal’s Europa League triumph last season. Still, the former Golden Eaglets hero lasted only half an hour in the second-leg semifinal clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The 23-year-old was diagnosed with an injury to the anterior rectus of his left leg, which required surgery. It has been a long way back for the Umuahia-born speedster, who missed his side’s Europa League final victory over Manchester United and the first three La Liga matches this season.
And according to Mundo Deportivo, Chukwueze has fully recovered from his injury and has rejoined first-team training at Villarreal.
Chukwueze’s injury kept him out of Nigeria’s squad for the clash against Liberia and Cape Verde in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The Villarreal star last featured for Nigeria in the 4-4 draw against Sierra Leone last year.
Great news! Have been dying to watch him play again. Wishing you an injury-free season bro
