The Manchester United midfielder has set up more goals than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues this season
Super Eagles winger Moses Simon is now just two behind Paul Pogba and Karim Benzema in the race for most assists in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
Simon has been arguably Nantes best player this season, and he continued in the same vein on Wednesday evening.
The 26-year-old almost notched his sixth assist of the season in the French Ligue 1 after he forced Lilian Brassier to score an own goal in Nantes 3-1 win against Stade Brest.
Nonetheless, only Pogba and Benzema have set up more goals in Europe’s top five leagues this season than Simon.
The France international has provided seven assists in five Premier League games, while Benzema has seven in six games.
The Super Eagles star has been involved in six of the nine goals Nantes have scored in the French top-flight this season.
Simon set up the goal in Nantes 1-1 draw against Monaco before providing the two assists in the 2-0 win over Metz.
He replicated the same feat in Nantes 4-1 win at Angers before his latest involvement in the 3-1 win over Brest. He will hope to carry the same form into the clash against Reims on Sunday.
