More bad news for Nigeria ahead of the clash against Cape Verde

The Super Eagles are already depleted ahead of the game against Blue Sharks, but there could be more problems for them

Nigeria’s Super Eagles could be with just 19 players for the 2022 World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde on Tuesday after two players tested positive for coronavirus.

Nigeria’s coach Gernot Rohr confirmed to the media ahead of the game that Tyronne Ebuehi and Samuel Kalu tested positive for Covid-19 before their trip to Cape Verde.

Although they tested negative following another test on Monday evening, they failed to travel with the rest of the squad due to the initial positive result.

It’s a huge blow for the three-time African champions, who are already without eight players for the clash against the Blue Sharks.

The Super Eagles started their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Liberia last Friday, but they will be without some of the key players from that game for the match against Cape Verde.

Nigeria won’t be able to count on the services of the UK players, who have returned to their base due to the UK’s coronavirus restrictions.

Also, Ola Aina has been excused due to family reasons. It leaves Rohr with just 19 players to choose from after Ebuehi and Kalu failed to travel for the game.

Ebuehi was expected to replace Aina in the right-back position, but Abdullahi Shehu is now set to come in for him.

Don’t we have Players we can invite in the local league to make up for the players traveling back to their clubs and the ones with covid? This coach Genort Rorh if you fail to pick up a draw in Cape verde, just park your load and go back to your country biko. Six good years we are still building. You took our wards to the nation’s cup and world cup building and now you can’t raise a team to go to cape verde and beat them? Your time is up man

which player are you expecting him to call up from the league, a standard or the obscure league that have been off for a while?
we should be direct and unsentimental when we talk, you are having pre-judgement mindset already which is blindfolding your sense of reasoning.
the man is handtied, there’s nothing he can do now., we should go and standardize our leagues and make them very functional before we start calling for the head of the coach..

Uncle Obinna, which local boys do you want him to call up? Is it those ones that got disgraced by Mexicans?

No good things can come out of Nigeria as long as Buhari is the head of state.( Buhari is a dictator and not President as he supposedly)
