Club football returned after two weeks of international break, and one of Nigeria’s newest stars was back at it as he delivered a man of the match display
Nigeria’s newest star Terem Moffi has received praises from fans following his match-winning performance in Lorient’s victory over Lille on Friday night.
Moffi delivered a man of the match performance as he helped Les Merlus defeat the defending champions in their Ligue 1 encounter at Stade du Moustoir.
The 21-year-old set up a brilliant assist before scoring the winner as Lorient secured a 2-1 home win. Moffi’s assist was a stroke of genius, holding off four defenders before setting up Armand Lauriente for the opener.
He then capped off a brilliant performance with an 87th-minute winner after Burak Yilmaz had restored parity for the away side from the penalty spot.
Following the match, fans took to social media to shower praises on the Nigerian international, who has only made three appearances for the Super Eagles.
With his winner, Moffi now has two goals and two assists in five Ligue 1 matches this season. The former Kortrijk striker is on course to equal or beat the record of 14 goals he scored last season.
