There was more football action across Europe’s domestic leagues on Saturday, and once again, Nigerian stars were not left out

Soccernet brings a low down of some of the Super Eagles stars fared.

Cyriel Dessers was the leading Nigerian star on Saturday after he continued his impressive start to life at Feyenoord.

The Belgian-born Nigerian star scored his first goal for De club aan de Maas in the 4-0 win over PSV last weekend, and he backed up the goal with another strike in the 5-3 win over NEC Nijmegen.

Dessers, who is on loan at the club from Genk, came on as a second-half substitute to score the fifth goal in the second minute of added minute.

Meanwhile, in the French Ligue 1, Terem Moffi played all 90 minutes, but he had a relatively quiet game as Lorient played an impressive 1-1 draw against Lyon away from home.

Emmanuel Dennis played for 75 minutes before he was taken off for Oghenekaro Etebo in Watford’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle. Also, William Troost-Ekong was in action for the Hornets, playing all 90 minutes of the encounter.

At Goodison Park, Alex Iwobi played his part as Everton bounced back from their Carabao Cup exit with a 2-0 win over Norwich City.

Meanwhile, at the King Power Stadium, Wilfred Ndidi played from start to finish while Kelechi Iheanacho came on to set up Jamie Vardy’s equaliser as Leicester City played a 2-2 draw against Burnley.

In Scotland, Joe Aribo scored the only goal of the game as Rangers returned to the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a 1-0 win over Dundee FC.

In the Tunisian Supercup, Anayo Iwuala scored the only goal of the game as Esperance beat CS Sfaxien on Saturday night.
