The Red-blues sealed a comfortable win in their Russian Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon, thanks to their Nigerian import
Nigerian forward Chidera Ejuke opened his account for this season as he scored the second goal to help CSKA Moscow secure a 2-0 win against Akhmat Grozny.
After scoring five goals and assisting two in the Russian Premier League last season, it was clear that Nigerian Winger Chidera would be a vital part of CSKA Moscow’s campaign this season, and he hasn’t failed.
The first half saw the Red blues play with an extra man advantage for most embers as Evgeny Kharin was sent off in the 23rd minute after accumulating two yellow cards.
However, Andre Berezutski’s men struggled to score even with the extra man advantage as the away side kept their defence water-tight.
However, the complexion of the game changed in the second half as the Red blues attacked with more purpose.
The pressure then paid off in the 71st minute as Vladislav Yakovlev headed into the net after a cross from Fedor Chalov.
CSKA Moscow weren’t done as in the 75th minute, Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke struck a spectacular curler into the back of the net, beating Giorgio Shelia in goal.
The 23-year-old’s goal was enough to put the game to bed and land CSKA Moscow a 2-0 win.
