The Nigeria-eligible forward’s contributions were important as he helped Salzburg secure a spot in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Karim Adeyemi registered half of RB Salzburg’s shots on target in their 2-1 victory against Brondby in the UEFA Champions League Playoffs. His efforts played a role in landing the Red Bulls a place in the group stage of this season’s Champions League.
Salzburg got into the thick of things very early in the game, with Cesko and Aaronson slotting two goals past Brondby goalie Mads Hermansen in the opening ten minutes.
Salzburg controlled the first half, playing fast and physical football. They registered all their shots on target in their first half, two of which were Adeyemi’s.
However, Brondby came out in the second half, knowing that they had to come out if they are to achieve anything from the game. But Salzburg kept it tight in defence, restricting the home side to just two shots on target in the second half.
In the end, Andreas Maxso’s 68th-minute goal turned out to be a consolation for Brondby, and they will have to make do with Europa football.
