The NPFL game week 32 fixtures take centre stage from 4 pm on Saturday, with Dakkada playing host to Heartland FC of Owerri. The rest of the matches take place at 4 pm on Sunday.
The pick of the bunch has to be the match that would take place at the Nest Of Champions. High flying Akwa United welcome fourth-placed current title holders, Enyimba.
Enyimba sit in fourth, just three points adrift Akwa United, seated at the top of the table. The People’s Elephants have struggled away from home this season, losing seven times in fifteen matches on the road this season.
Under Fatai Osho, the Elephants have also struggled to score goals, especially away from home, scoring 11 and conceding 16.
However, with top man Anayo back from International duty, the Elephants have more strength in attack going into Sunday’s clash.
Despite their poor away form Enyimba are unbeaten in five league games, winning two in the process. Their last match is a 1-0 victory against Kwara United.
Meanwhile, Akwa United once had the longest unbeaten streak in the league. The Uyo based side went 18 matches unbeaten before losing to Katsina United two weeks ago.
Under Kenedy Boboye, Akwa have been excellent IN defence this season. They have conceded the least goals in the league (18).
Akwa have lost just once in their last five games, winning two in the process. In their last ten matchups, Enyimba has won five while Akwa United have won only two. The other three have ended in stalemate.
With the likely return of all the players that played in the friendly game against Mexico in the United States, the match looks to be shaping up pretty well.
