The number one citizen of Kogi state has received present and past Nigerian players at his office in recent weeks, and it continued on Monday

Former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo is the latest Nigerian footballer to visit Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello at his Abuja residence.

Ighalo’s visit comes after former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi and Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho also visited the Kogi State governor.

The Al-Shabab striker, in his address, called Bello a bridge builder, adding that his leadership style is a source of hope to Nigerian youths.

The 32-year-old, who is currently on the verge of divorce from his wife, thanked the Governor for the reception he gave to former Nigerian players in March while urging other state Governors to emulate the leadership qualities of Bello.

Ighalo’s statement echoes that of Mikel, who also said in his address that there’s no one better to lead Nigerian youths than Bello.

It’s no longer a secret that the Kogi state governor is interested in contesting for Nigeria’s presidency at the 2023 general elections, and he’s been seeking the support of prominent Nigerian youths to help his mission.
