The 24-year-old did not score on Friday night, but he played a vital role to help the Foxes salvage a point at the St. Mary’s Stadium
Kelechi Iheanacho had a hand in both goals as Leicester City and Southampton shared the spoils after playing a 1-1 draw in their Premier League encounter on Saturday night.
The Foxes will be more disappointed with the result, though, as Southampton had to play for most of the match with ten men after Jannick Vestergaard was sent off ten minutes into the game.
Man of the moment, Iheanacho was involved at both ends of the pitch. The Nigerian international conceded a penalty after blocking a Stuart Armstrong shot with his hand, allowing James Ward Prowse to give Saints the lead.
However, Iheanacho redeemed himself as his brilliant cross in the 68th minute found Jonny Evans, who headed home for Leicester’s equaliser.
With the assist, Iheanacho is officially the most in-form player in the English top-flight right now, moving past Harry Kane.
According to whoscored, the former Manchester City striker has nine-goal involvements in Leicester’s last six league game, which is more than any other player in the league.
