The Super Eagles star has been on a brilliant run of form over the last few weeks, and he is starting to earn the rewards
Kelechi Iheanacho has signed a new two-year deal with Leicester City, which will keep him at the club until 2024.
Iheanacho’s current contract ends in 2022, but he has now extended it by another two years. The Nigerian international is enjoying his best spell with the Foxes after scoring seven times in five games in March.
The former Manchester City star was named the Premier League player for the month of March after scoring five times in three league games, including a hat-trick against Sheffield United.
And with him in such fine form, Leicester decided to reward his performances by offering him a new two-year deal.
After signing the new contract, Iheanacho revealed he’s delighted to stay at the King Power Stadium for another four years.
“I can’t express how I’m feeling. I’m excited, I’m happy, I’m overwhelmed! It’s a great moment, and I’m happy that Leicester City gave me a new contract,” Iheanacho told LCFC.com
“It’s been a great time here. It’s not been easy, but there’s a lot of people here that are good people, great people to work with. They are nice people and they make me feel comfortable and welcome since I came in.
“It’s been really great being here. It’s like a family. I’m happy being here, and hopefully, I can stay here many more years.”
Iheanacho joined Leicester City from Manchester City on a five-year deal for 25 million pounds in 2017. He has struggled for most parts, but he has rediscovered his form in the last two seasons.
