The Super Eagles star etched his name into the record books as Leicester City thrashed Sheffield United 5-0 in the Premier League encounter between the two sides at the King Power Stadium
Kelechi Iheanacho scored his first Premier League hat-trick to help Leicester City to an emphatic 5-0 victory over Sheffield United on Sunday.
The Nigerian international is a man in form, having scored in his last two league games before Sunday’s five-star performance.
Leicester City started on the front foot against a Sheffield United that had sacked their manager, Chris Wilder, on Saturday.
The Foxes dominance paid off six minutes before half-time as Iheanacho put them ahead with a tap-in following a ball from Ayoze Perez.
Iheanacho’s goal ensured Brendan Rodgers went into the break with the lead. The second half started the same way the first half ended with Leicester on the attack, but Aaron Ramsdale denied Jamie Vardy after he was set up by Iheanacho.
However, the Foxes eventually doubled their lead in the 64th minute courtesy of a strike from Perez. Iheanacho then extended the lead four minutes later, finishing off a Vardy assist.
The former Manchester City man completed his hat-trick 12 minutes from time, firing in a long-range effort past Ramsdale.

An Ethan Ampadu own goal in the 80th minute completed an emphatic victory for Leicester, but the story was all about Iheanacho’s fantastic performance.
