The former Liverpool star is currently enjoying a successful career and she has now come out to share how football started for her

Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has revealed she began playing football in secondary school, although she had a problem playing with the guys.

Oshoala is currently the biggest female player from Africa and one of the best in women's football. The 26-year-old burst into public consciousness at the 2014 FIFA U-20 World Cup, winning the golden boot and golden ball.

Oshoala has featured for top European sides like Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona, where she is currently plying her trade.

The Nigerian international has won four Africa Women's player of the year and is well on course to win a record-breaking fifth award this year.

But before the success, Oshoala revealed she found it difficult as a female player because there were not too many girl teams.

Speaking on how football started for her on FIFA Playon podcast, Oshoala said: It was in school, to be honest. The guys don't really allow me to play with them.

It was pretty much difficult to get in with them and also, it was a period where you don't really see girls kick football.

And my environment was an environment where I don't really see female football players.

However, Oshoala revealed it all change when she found out a school close to her school had a female football team.

“I never knew a proper female soccer team existed until I got to secondary school. A school close to my school had a female team.

“Then I used to go from my school to the other school to play with the team,” Oshoala added.

It's all football for Oshoala, and she was not interested in love until she heard Tiwa Savage's, dangerous love.

The former Liverpool star revealed the song changed her view on love while also expressing her delight in working with the Koroba singer on her album.
