The Nigerian midfielder loves scoring against the Blues, and he was on target again on Tuesday to power the Foxes to victory over Frank Lampard’s men
Leicester City secured a fantastic 2-0 victory – kicked off by a rare Wilfred Ndidi goal – over Chelsea on Tuesday night, to climb above Manchester United to the top of the league.
Wilfred Ndidi’s well-placed strike – a thumping left-footed shot that cannoned in off the post – in just the sixth minute handed Leicester City the lead against Chelsea at the King Power Stadium before James Maddison added a second just before halftime.
The Super Eagles midfield general’s first Premier League goal of the season is also his first since finding the back of the net against Newcastle in September 2019.
The goal is Ndidi’s seventh English top-flight goal since moving to England from Belgium four years ago.
Chelsea are the Nigerian midfielder’s favourite customers, though, with Tuesday’s effort being his second strike against the Blues, making them the only team he has scored against on multiple occasions in the competition.
The 24-year-old enforcer has featured in 130 Premier League matches for Leicester City since joining from Genk for €17.6 million during the January transfer window in 2017.
