Days after Asisat Oshoala announced the sad news of her stepmother’s demise, another Nigerian player is also mourning
Super Eagles star John Ogu is currently grieving following the passing of his mother. The 32-year-old took to his social media pages to announce the tragic news.
Ogu said it’s the worst day of his life and added many broken hearts emojis in a Twitter post. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) also confirmed the news by sending their condolences to the Nigerian international.

Ogu has always spoken fondly of his mum and how she sold food on the streets to provide for the family.
I’m grateful to God for all he has blessed me with . Thinking about when my mum be selling food on the street and people get jealous of her that they had to pour Kerosine in her stew just to make all difficult for her and her Children but we never gave up .

It has been a tough year for Ogu both on and off the pitch. The former Hapoel Beer Sheva star has been inactive for over a year.
The 32-year-old has been without a club since he left Al-Adalah last January. Although he has always stated his desire to return, he is yet to find a new club.
