The Super Falcons star was not included in the FIFPRO best XI nomination list, but she put that behind her as she delivered an impressive performance in La Blaugranes thrashing of Valencia
Asisat Oshoala was in brilliant form on Saturday afternoon after scoring a hat-trick in Barcelona Femeni’s 7-0 victory over Valencia.
The hat-trick takes Oshoala’s tally this season to seven goals in nine competitions with six of those coming in eight league matches.
Mariona Caldentey’s brace in the first and 28th minute had put Barcelona in cruise control before Caroline Graham Hansen made it three in the 34th minute.
Oshoala then got the first of her three goals four minutes later, finishing off a pass from Hansen. The former Liverpool star was then set-up by Patri for her second and Barca’s fifth on the stroke of half-time.
The 25-year-old first had a chance to complete her hat-trick just after the break after she was fouled in the box, but the resulting spot-kick was taken and missed by Pereira.
It looked like the opportunity had passed away when Marta Torrejon made it six in the 55th minute. But Oshoala would not be denied the match ball after she completed her hat-trick 16 minutes from time.
