The Nigerian made history in the Europa League when he recorded two assists in The Foxes opening day win and was once again at it on Thursday night

Kelechi Iheanahco was in top form after he scored twice in Leicester City’s Europa League victory over Sporting Braga at the King Power Stadium.

Iheanacho’s brace means he now has three goals in the competition this season having scored in the opening day win over Zorya Luhansk.

The former Manchester City player has been directly involved in six goals in his two Europa League starts for Brendan Rodgers men.

Iheanacho opened the scoring for Leicester in the 21st minute, slotting in from close range following a lovely team move. The 23-year-old scored his second three minutes after the break thanks to the help of a deflection.

The Super Eagles star then turned creator for Dennis Praet, who scored Leicester’s third. It turned out to be Ihenacho’s final act in the game as he came off for Ayoze Perez in the 70th minute.

His substitution did not stop the goals, though, as James Maddison scored a fourth to seal an emphatic win for the Foxes.

The victory puts Leicester on top of Group G with nine points from three games. Next up for them in the competition is a return leg clash against the same opposition after the international break.
