The retired Nigeria international has been out of favour at Stamford Bridge for a while, but his time with the Blues may be drawing to an end
Victor Moses will undergo his medicals in the coming days with a view to joining Russian giants Spartak Moscow on a permanent deal, says transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard had declared the former Super Eagles winger surplus to requirement and omitted his name in the squad list for the Blues’ UEFA Champions League group stage campaign.
Moses was close to sealing a move back to Inter Milan – where he spent the latter part of last season on loan – last week, but the Serie A giants backed out of the deal shortly before the transfer window slammed shut in Italy.
However, the transfer window in countries like Switzerland (ends on 12 October), Russia (ends on 17 October), and Croatia (ends on 19 October) are still open.
Spartak Moscow, the record winners of the Soviet Top League/Russian Premier League with 22 titles, are now the favourites to land the former Charlton Athletic and Wigan Athletic man.
Previously, Moses spent time on loan at Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham, and Fenerbahce.
