The Super Eagles star has donned the number 15 jersey in all of the preseason games, but he has been assigned a permanent number ahead of the new Serie A campaign
Victor Osimhen is Napoli’s new number nine for the 2020/2021 Italian Serie A campaign which starts this weekend. Osimhen takes over the shirt from Fernando Llorente, who is expected to leave Gli Azzurri before the transfer window shuts.
His new number was also the same one Gonzalo Higuain wore during his record-breaking season with Napoli. The Argentine scored the most goals in a single Serie A campaign in 2015/2016.
Osimhen will also hope to come up with such numbers when the Italian top-flight kicks off on Saturday.

He joined Napoli from Lille for a club and African record fee of 81.3 million euros and has wasted no time in settling down at his new environment. The 21-year-old scored back to back hat-tricks in Napoli’s preseason friendlies against L’Aquila and Teramo.
Osimhen and Napoli begin their Serie A campaign with a clash against Parma on Sunday.
