Algerian internationalFaouzi Ghoulam has praised Victor Osimhen’s quality, saying he is a great player and hopes he scores a lot of goals with the Gli Azzurri. Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille for a club record and African record fee of 81 million euros including add-ons.
The Nigerian international has wasted no time in settling in quickly at his new club. In his first game for the side, Osimhen scored a hat-trick in the space of seven minutes as Napoli thrashed L’Aquila.
He backed up the performance with another hat-trick in Friday’s win over Teramo. Following the pre-season friendly, Osimhen’s teammate, Ghoulam says the Nigerian has been a positive influence among the players.
“We are improving with 4-2-3-1. Osimhen is a great footballer, he will have a lot of fun with his teammates, Ghoulam said. We hope he scores many goals, his role is very important for the fans.”
The 21-year-old will hope to carry his pre-season form into the new Serie A campaign which begins in a fortnight.
