Moses Simon excelled for the Yellow Canaries last season, and the French side are now encouraged to take another Nigerian to La Beaujoire-Louis Fonteneau
According to Guimaraes digital, Nigeria international midfielder Mikel Agu is on the verge of signing for Nantes, with the announcement of his transfer expected within the next few hours.
Currently on the payroll of Portuguese side Vitória de Guimarães, Agu will be teaming up with compatriot Simon – named Nantes’ Player of the Season last campaign – should the deal be confirmed.
Agu began his career at Porto, but he spent four of his last five years on loan at various clubs, including Club Brugge, Vitoria Setubal, and Bursaspor, before joining Guimaraes on a free transfer last summer.
Porto, though, are entitled to a cut of any transfer fee Guimaraes receive from Nantes for the Nigerian midfielder.
Nantes Coach, Christian Gourcuff, wants to bring in Agu as a direct replacement for captain Abdoulaye Touré, who is believed to be on his way out of the club this summer.
27-year-old Agu, who has earned seven caps for the Super Eagles, is presently valued at €2.4 million as per transfermarkt.
