The Nigerian forward had a spectacular 2019-2020 season for the Blue Sea Storm but his time in Turkey may be over
According to reports from Fotospor, Trabzonspor have received a bid of six million euros (N2.74 billion) from an unnamed club in one of the club countries.
The Nigerian striker joined Trabzonspor two years ago from Israeli club Hapoel Beer Sheva for €1.1 million, and after another fantastic campaign, he may be on his way out of Turkey.
Nwakaeme scored 11 Super Lig goals and created nine assists – one of Nigeria’s most exceptional scoring records in Europe this season – as Trabzonspor challenged for the league title only to end up in second place four points behind champions Instabul Basaksehir.
The 31-year-old left-winger contributed three more goals (two goals and one assist) in six games as Eddie Ikem Newton’s men lifted the Turkiye Kupasi.
The decision to remain or leave Trabzonspor, however, rests solely with the one-cap Super Eagles striker who has a €6 million release clause in the three years contract extension he signed with the club last summer.
