It was a good day at the office for Nigerian stars in Ligue 1 as they helped their respective sides to a superb win on Sunday afternoon
Super Eagles striker, Josh Maja, was on target as Bordeaux picked up the three points away from home courtesy of a 2-0 win at Angers.
Maja put Les Girondins ahead in the 25th minute before Toma Basic doubled the advantage two minutes later. It was Maja’s first goal of the campaign having scored six times last season.

His compatriot, Samuel Kalu, who has been linked with a move away from the club, came on as a substitute 12 minutes from time. Bordeaux sit second on the table with four points, two points behind leaders, Nice.
Meanwhile, Moses Simon was also impressive as secured their first win of the embryonic Ligue 1 season with a 2-1 win over Nimes.
Andrei Girotto and Imran Louza, who was also sent off, put Nantes two goals up before Zinedine Ferhat pulled one back for the visitors. Simon, who joined Nantes permanently on a four-year deal, came off in the added minute of the encounter.
The win puts Les Canaries sixth on the Ligue 1 table with four points from two games.
