The 24-year-old winger recently committed to a long-term deal with Nantes but he is not letting go of the desire to test his abilities in Europe’s most glamorous league
Nigeria international Moses Simon has revealed his dream of playing for Chelsea FC, idolizing John Mikel Obi and Didier Drogba as the two icons who made him fall in love with the reigning Europa League champions.
Over the years, the west London club has been home to a few Nigerian stars, with John Mikel Obi winning all available club competitions with the Blues, the highlight of which was the UEFA Champions League triumph eight years ago.
The duo of Celestine Babayaro and Victor Moses also won the UEFA Cup and the Premier League, respectively, for the Londoners.
Simon possesses the quality to star for the Stamford Bridge landlords, having netted nine goals and created eight assists across all competitions while on loan at Nantes during the just-concluded campaign in France.
The former Levante forward’s brilliant performances also earned him the Canaries’ Player of the Season award, and he knows he has to keep his level up if he wants to follow in the footsteps of his compatriots in starring for the 2012 European champions.
“It is the Blues because I think I play their kind of football and will fit in well,” Simon told Goal.
“I like the way they play, and I love them because of John Obi Mikel and Didier Drogba.
“Should that happen, I’ll be so happy because that will be a dream come true for me.”
