FA Cup: Ndidi Superb But Leicester City’s Wembley Dream Shattered

Leicester City are out of the FA Cup in the quarterfinal stage after succumbing to a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at the King Power Stadium despite a solid midfield performance by Wilfred Ndidi.

Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, and their Foxes teammates will not be making a trip to the Wembley Stadium for the semifinals of the FA Cup after Brendan Rodgers’ men fell at the quarterfinals stage to the Blues.

The 23-year-old Nigerian midfielder, in his third FA Cup game of the season and his 32nd match for Leicester City this campaign, delivered one of his most energetic performances since arriving in England.

But it was not enough as Ross Barkley’s second-half strike handed Chelsea a vital win and passage to the last-four round of the world’s oldest cup competition.

Super Eagles’ striker Iheanacho sat the game out on the home side’s bench.

Following the cup disappointment, the Nigerian duo will now turn their attentions to the Premier League, where Leicester City currently sit pretty in third with 55 points.

With Wolves, Manchester United, Tottenham, and even Arsenal still mathematically possible to make it into the top four, the Foxes would be keen to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
