With football currently on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak, there’s no better way to keep your mind alive as a player than to listen to gospel songs
Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo appears to be unbothered about lack of football and his contract situation, as he was seen listening to popular Nigerian gospel artiste, Tope Alabi.
In a video he uploaded on his Twitter account, Ighalo was seen listening to the ‘Ore ti o common’ crooner. The former Super Eagles star was listening to Halleuyah, a song off her Yes and Amen album.
Ighalo is a devout Christian and was probably listening to the song to take his mind off the contract situation at Old Trafford.
The 30-year-old joined Manchester United on a loan deal from Shanghai Shenhua till the end of May. But with the Premier League currently on a break due to the coronavirus, the season is set to be extended till July.
Although Ighalo had hoped he would be allowed to extend his stay at Manchester United, it’s believed that Shanghai expect him back at the end of May in preparation for the Chinese Super League which is set to kick off in June or July.
However, Ighalo could still get his wish of staying at Manchester United, but the Red Devils will need to sign him permanently for £20m as Shanghai will only consider a permanent sale.
