Thirteen-time European champions, Real Madrid, are the latest club to express interest in the services of Nigeria international, Wilfred Ndidi.
The Super Eagles star is attracting interest from a host of top clubs across Europe following his brilliant performances for Leicester City this campaign.
Ndidi’s profile has been on a rise since he joined the Foxes from Gent for a fee in the region of 17m euro. While he settled in quickly at the King Power stadium, Ndidi has taken his game a level higher this season.
The Nigeria international has been arguably Leicester’s most important player this season, and it showed in the team’s result when he was on the sidelines due to a knee injury.
Brendan Rodgers side won just one match during the period Ndidi was out injured and only picked up just two points out of a possible 15 points in the Premier League.
The Nigeria international is the glue that holds Leicester together, and his performances have not gone unnoticed among Europe’s topsides.
PSG, Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester United have all been linked to the Nigerian, but they will also have to battle Madrid who are the latest club to show interest.
According to Fichajes, Los Blancos’ boss, Zinedine Zidane is looking for a cover for Casemiro who is the only defensive midfielder they have following the sale of Marcos Llorente.
Ndidi fits the bill and Madrid could make a bid for the 23-year-old this summer. However, it remains to be seen if the Nigerian would be lured by the prospect of playing for Madrid having stated he’s happy at the King Power stadium.
Ndidi currently has a contract that runs till 2024 at Leicester.
