The Nigerian forward put behind initial setbacks in Europe to become one of the most in-demand strikers in football to the delight of his national team boss.

Super Eagles Gernot Rohr believes that with his physical assets and mental strength Victor Osimhen can develop into a fantastic forward in the not-too-distant future.

Osimhen had to overcome injuries, illness, and a barren spell at Wolfsburg before becoming an instant hit at Belgian side Royal Charleroi.

With his confidence restored, the 21-year-old striker has continued to bang in the goals at Lille, despite it being his debut season in France.

Twenty-two goals in the last eight months for club and country have shot up the value of the young forward, who Les Dogues paid only €12 million to acquire last August.

Manchester United are among a host of clubs interested in snapping up Osimhen ahead of next season, and Rohr is confident that the Super Eagles star has the qualities to excel at Old Trafford.

In an Instagram conversation with former Super Eagles Media officer Colin Udoh, Rohr said of Osimhen:

“If he stays humble and I know he will, he will go far.

“Though he’s had some difficult times with injuries and he had to start again from a small club. He has shown that he can fight, come back and play again at the highest level.

“So, if he stays humble, he will improve and develop. With Manchester United looking at him, he can be great.”

Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Inter Milan are the other clubs linked with a move for Osimhen in the summer.
