Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr, says he has received a new contract offer from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), but he is still studying it.
Rohr is into the final two months of his current contract but has always indicated his interest to continue as the Super Eagles manager.
The German tactician took over as Nigeria’s coach in 2016 on an initial two years contract before it was extended in 2018.
During this period, Rohr has led the team to two major tournaments with a game to spare. The Super Eagles also finished third at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations under his watch.
Speaking in an interview at his base in France with Europe 1, Rohr said: “I have just received an extension proposal, my contract ends on June 30.” We are talking about my future. I will look into it.
It remains to be seen if the former Burkina Faso manager will accept the new offer given the conditions attached to it.
Recently, NFF’s president, Amaju Pinnick revealed staying in Nigeria, earning in Naria and developing local league players are some of the terms in the new contract.
