E-Premier League: Wilfred Ndidi Suffers An Embarrassing Loss To Diogo Jota

in EPL, Lifestyle, News

In an efforts to keep fans entertained this period and support medical personnel, the Premier League created an online gaming competition among its players.

The competition named “e-premier league” involves a selected player from each of the 20 premier league clubs drawn against each other to play the game of FIFA.

Each player represents his club with the prize fund donated to the #PlayersTogether initiative, which will then be given to the National Health Service (NHS).

Super Eagles star, Wilfred Ndidi was Leicester representative, but the 23-year-old's gaming skills are not as brilliant as his football skills.

The former Genk man was paired against Wolves' Diogo Jota, and it was the Portuguese star who came out on top in emphatic fashion.

In a one-sided game, Jota put eight past Ndidi who could only manage two goals. The Portugal international played using his Wolves side and scored four goals himself.

Jota took the lead with a strike from Raul Jimenez, but Ndidi levelled scores immediately with a strike from his countryman, Kelechi Iheanacho.

However, it was all Jota from there as he scored five consecutive times including a hat-trick from him. Jamie Vardy scored Leicester's second, but a strike from Leonardo Campana and Jota himself secured a comprehensive win for the Portuguese.

Speaking to the premier league after the win, Jota says he's a better player than Ndidi, while the Nigerian believes the Wolves star could win the tournament.

Jota said: “I think probably I know of the game than him [Ndidi]. I'm an attacker so I'm always looking to score goals instead of defending. That's my style of play.”

Ndidi said: “I think he can actually win the tournament. He's really good. I'm not up to that standard yet, but at least I learned a few things. He'll go far.”

Jota's reward for beating Ndidi is a quarter-final clash against Sheffield's Lys Mousset.
