The former Super Eagles goalkeeper was the captain on the night Nigeria won her third Africa Cup of Nations title, but surprisingly that was not his best match for the country.
While most players would pick the match they won or a milestone occasion, Vincent Enyeama has decided to rank an encounter in which he was on the losing side as the best match of his Super Eagles career.
The former Lille goalkeeper revealed the clash against Argentina at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa stands out from the other matches he played for the Super Eagles.
Although Nigeria lost that encounter on a sunny afternoon at Ellis Park courtesy of a Gabriel Heinze header inside the opening six minutes, it was Enyeama who took home the plaudits as he kept Barcelona star, Lionel Messi, at bay.
In what was a Messi vs Enyeama battle on that day in Johannesburg, the former Enyimba man denied Messi by producing world-class saves, and also kept the scoreline respectable for Nigeria.
Enyeama has now revealed that match rank on top of the best games he featured for Nigeria. The 37-year-old said this on his Twitter account after another user uploaded a video of his highlights from that encounter.
I will never forget this match.rated as my best match in super eagles #smile https://t.co/6V4OAa9P3o

Enyeama last featured for Nigeria in 2015, but he’s still country’s joint record cap holder with 102 appearances for the National team.
