Young Nigerian forward Josh Maja has stressed the importance of taking all the chances on offer for him at his French club.
Bordeaux striker, Maja, is aware of his strengths and weaknesses and he’s hoping to energize his career by getting the most out of his potential.
The 21-year-old came through the Sunderland youth ranks and was a big hit on Wearside.
The Nigeria international only joined Les Girondins just over a year ago, but it has been a productive campaign for the youngster. This season, he has posted five goals and two assists in 19 Ligue 1 appearances.
Maja’s reputation has continued to grow in France, with the likes of Everton and Chelsea believed to be interested in snapping up the striker should he be available.
Whether he stays in France or returns to England, Maja has the attributes to make an impact. He is quick, direct and is capable of putting the ball in the back of the net.
Yet the youngster remains humble and his keen to continue his development.
“I have to be smart on the pitch because I’m neither the tallest, the strongest, nor the fastest. I want to seize all the opportunities to impose myself in Bordeaux,” Maja said in quotes obtained from Girondins4Ever.
Maja and Bordeaux host Nice later on Sunday at the Matmut Atlantique in a Ligue 1 clash.
