The former Super Eagles’ winger was the hero of many in the 90s, including the Premier League leaders’ goaltender, Adrian San Miguel.
Liverpool’s Spanish goalkeeper Adrian has named former Real Betis winger, and Nigerian legend George Finidi has the best footballer he has ever seen come out of the most populous black nation on earth.
Finidi became a hugely popular figure in the earlier nineties after helping Nigeria claim the 1994 African Cup of Nations trophy.
He was also instrumental as the Super Eagles qualified for their first-ever World Cup that same year, and got to the knockout rounds in the tournament proper in the United States.
The following year, Finidi was also a key part of the Ajax team that conquered Europe in the UEFA Champions League.
The flying winger would later move to the Spanish Primera Division, where he starred for the likes of Real Mallorca and Betis.
A young Adrian must have seen Finidi at the peak of his powers in La Liga, and he has picked him as a better player than the likes of Austin Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu, who never played in Spain.

Alongside Finidi, Adrian also picked out former Real Madrid duo of Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane as his favourite for Brazil and France, respectively.
Andres Iniesta nets it for Spain while Barcelona’s Lionel Messi shaves it for Argentina. There’s Oliver Kahn for Germany as well as Steven Gerrard for England.
