The four-time African Women Footballer of the Year has revealed her hunger for more titles after inspiring the Catalans to Cup glory on Sunday.
Oshoala claimed her first major trophy since moving to Spain after her brace helped Barcelona thrash Real Sociedad 10-1 in the final of the Super Cup in Salamanca. It was the maiden edition of the four-team Spanish women’s tournament.
Recall that the 25-year-old was instrumental in Barca Ladies’ journey to the final, netting the winner in her side’s 3-2 triumph over Atletico Madrid in the semi-final of the competition.
With her double in the final, Oshoala has now scored 19 goals in 22 matches in all competitions this season.
The massive win over Real Sociedad not only makes Barcelona the champions of the maiden Women’s Super Cup, but it also earned the Blaugranes their first major domestic title since they celebrated the Spanish Women’s Cup triumph in 2018.
A delighted Oshoala reveals she can’t wait that long for another title triumph with Lluis Cortes’ side still in the hunt for titles on three fronts.
“To add the Super Cup to last year’s Copa Catalunya was a great experience,” the Super Falcons skipper told BBC Sport.
“But my professional priority is to keep doing well and winning, so I can’t take my eyes off the targets.
“We still have the league, Uefa Women’s Champions League and the Spanish Cup to contest this season as a team.”
Up next for Oshoala and Barcelona is a trip to face Sporting Huelva on Tuesday in a Spanish Women’s Cup tie.
