Despite signing a deal with the club, Odion Ighalo did not undergo medicals at Manchester United as there was no time to conduct one.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein on Twitter, the former Super Eagles did not undergo the standard routine medical for a new player.

United beat the deadline to complete the signing of Ighalo on a six-month loan deal from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua. With just two hours left before the window shuts, United were in the race to beat time, and that played a part in the decision not to allow Ighalo to have his medical.

Nevertheless, it is not known yet if Ighalo will be included in United’s squad that host Wolves in a Premier League clash on Saturday.

If he does not make the squad, the former Super Eagles star will have to wait till February 17 before making his debut as United will go on a winter break introduced by the Premier League this season.
