Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon were both in action on Saturday as their teams sealed comprehensive wins in the Ligue 1.
Osimhen’s Lille bounced back from their 2-1 loss to Marseille last week by thrashing Ligue 1 bottom side, Toulouse on Saturday night.
The 21-year-old who has 13 goals in the French top-flight could not add to his tally on Saturday night, but he still played his role in the 3-0 win.
Loic Remy put Les Dogues ahead inside the opening two minutes before doubling their advantage six minutes before half-time.
Portugal star, Renato Sanches sealed the win for Christophe Galtier’s side with a right-footed finish following a ball from Osimhen.
The win lifts Lille to third, two points ahead of fourth-place Rennes- although Les Rennais have a game in hand.
Meanwhile, Moses Simon also played an important role as his Nantes side stunned high flyers Olympique Marseille away from home.
The Canaries who are winless in their last six games stunned their hosts courtesy of goals from Anthony Limbombe, Abdoul Kader Bamba and an Alvaro Gonzalez own goal.
Simon has scored nine goals for the Canaries this campaign, but he could not add to his tally despite playing for the entire duration of the encounter.
The win over Andre Villas-Boas’ men lifts Nantes to 10th with 37 points from 26 games, while Marseille stay in second with 52 points.
