Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has praised the improved form of Kelechi Iheanacho while also giving praises to Brendan Rodgers for giving the former Man City man more opportunities.
Iheanacho had a rough start to the season with the Super Eagles star making just league cup appearances in the first four months of the season.
However, since he made the first league appearance on December 1st, Iheanacho has turned his campaign around. On that day, Leicester City were trailing 1-0 to Everton, but they managed to turn it around after Iheanacho came on.
The former Golden Eaglets star came on to set up Vardy’s equaliser before netting the winner in the sixth minute of stoppage time. Since then, he has turned out to be one of the Foxes best player.
The 23-year-old has scored eight goals and provided four assists in just 14 appearances for Leicester this season. His improved form has made Ndidi happy with the former Genk star praising Iheanacho’s goalscoring instincts.
Ndidi also revealed Iheanacho turnaround is due to the more opportunities he is getting under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers.
“I’m very happy for Kelelchi because he’s a natural goalscorer,” Ndidi said. “If you give him the opportunity like he has now, he will deliver, Ndidi told Leicester Mercury.
“I think the manager has really helped him too. He’s done that with so many players.
“We have good discipline and understand the game better. Every player has really changed, in a good way.
“We have to set our targets and see what comes out of it at the end of the season. Not just for his season though, for our careers too. We know how to look after ourselves and be the best we can,” he added.
