The number was last worn by Antonio Valencia who left the club last season.  Ighalo signed a deal that will keep him at Old Trafford till the end of the season.

He returns to the Premier League three years after leaving Watford. The former Super Eagles striker scored 40 goals in all competitions for the Hornets, and he will be hoping he can reproduce that kind of form in United’s colours.

He will be required to help solve United’s struggles in front of goal following an injury to the club’s talisman, Marcus Rashford.

The 30-year-old will hope to make his debut when United trade tackles with Chelsea in two weeks.
