The 30-year-old Nigerian was not part of the United squad that travelled to Spain for a warm-weather training camp with fears he could be denied entry on return due to UK restrictions on people who have been in China over the last 14 days.
Odion Ighalo joined Manchester United till the end of the season from Chinese side, Shanghai Shenhua on deadline day. The former Watford man arrived from China two weeks ago, but with the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the Uk tightened border restrictions on travellers who have been to China in the last 14 days.
However, despite missing the trip to Spain, Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Ighalo would be part of the squad that travels to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea on Monday.
Ighalo has been training with Man Utd’s performance coach, Wayne Richardson at United’s training ground in Carrington to get ready for the massive clash against Lampard’s men.
And it appears he’s been able to achieve that following Solskjaer’s latest comments. The former Cardiff manager also revealed he wants to integrate him into the squad quickly.
“Yeah, he is going to travel with us. We will just see his fitness work this week, and I think we will get him sharp. We want to integrate him as quickly as we can because, of course, he is desperate to play for us,” Solskjaer told United’s website
United return from their Spain camp on Friday ahead of the clash against Chelsea on Monday.
