These are difficult times for Chidiebere Nwakali, the brother of Kelechi Nwakali after his contract was terminated by Swedish side Kalmar FF.

According to owngoalnigeria, the former Golden Eaglets star was sacked by the Röda bröder after he returned late from Christmas break.

The 23-year-old failed to return on time after the club decided not to pay for his flight ticket. Although he returned to Sweden last week, the club have decided to take action.

Kalmar’s Sporting director, Jorgen Petersson revealed that Nwakali’s contract was terminated after breaking the terms and conditions of his contract.

In a statement gotten from owngoalnigeria, Petersson said: ” We follow the usual working days, and when you do not follow the work, we did what we should do, and won’t comment any further.

Through his behaviour, he has violated parts of his contract which is not okay. He did come for pre-season. It was such a gross breach of contract and there are no places to sell him”.

” The deal is broken, he has broken the agreement by not coming here for pre-season training. We wish him and his representatives well”, he added.

Nwakali joined Kalmar last year, but he did not make an appearance throughout his stay at the club. The 23-year-old has represented Nigeria at the U-17 and U-20 level.
