Following the announcement of Henry Onyekuru on a six-month loan deal from Monaco, Galatasaray have completed the signing of another Nigerian star.
Jesse Sekidika has now joined the Turkish Super Lig champions, meaning the Lions now have two Nigerians in their ranks. Sekidika was formerly with Turkish Lig 1 club Eskisehirspor but left this January. He has now inked a deal with Galatasaray which will see him play at the Türk Telekom Stadium till the 2023-2024 season.

Galatasaray president, Mustafa Cengiz revealed on Galatasaray’s website that the club decided to sign Sekidika because he fits into the club’s plan and structure.
Jesse, is a footballer who is in line with our strategic and rejuvenated policy. We believe that he will always take part in the struggle to carry the flag of Galatasaray to the top in the honest race as a soldier and a team player, the President said.

The 23-year-old was born in Port-Harcourt and had trials with former Premier League side, Stoke City, but could not sign with the Potters due to work permit issues.
Sekidika played for Benfica youth team before joining Serbian side Napredak 2016. He made 47 appearances for Napredak, scoring seven goals before joining Eskisehirspor in 2018.
He made a total of 76 appearances for the Red Lightnings, scoring 27 goals. He’ll hope his latest move to the Turkish topflight will get him the attention of the public eye.
