West Brom's push for promotion continued to gain momentum after they defeated Birmingham 3-2 at the St Andrew's Trillion Trophy Stadium in Saturday's Championship clash.

The Nigerian international, who was making his 22nd appearance for West Brom had a difficult time as he was culpable for Birmingham's opening goal that was scored by Lukas Jutkiewicz in the third minute.

However, two goals from Charlie Austin in the space of eight minutes turned the tie around for Slaven Bilic's men. Birmingham pressed for an equalizer, but West Brom held on for the win.
The win took the Baggies two points clear of Leeds United who could only manage a 3-3 draw against Cardiff City. Next up for West Brom is a clash against Brentford next Saturday.
