The Nigeria international has played a key role in Leicester City’s surprise title challenge this campaign. The Foxes currently sit second on the Premier League table 10 points behind leaders Liverpool, and one point ahead of champions Man City.

Ndidi has played a major part in the surge with 17 league appearances and two goals so far this season. The former Genk forward sits second in the rankings of players with most tackles this season.  He is also the player with most interceptions this season.

However, the former Genk midfielder revealed one of the reasons for his brilliant performances this season is because of the tips he has been getting from Jamie Vardy.

The 23-year-old revealed the former England international has been giving him and his teammates tips on how to hit the ball, when to hit the ball and when to pass.

It is an advice Ndidi has found useful especially from someone who has scored 17 league goals this season.

‘He’s not just doing it for himself, he’s doing it for the team,’ said Ndidi. ‘Before the game, he’s always there to tell me how to hit the ball.

‘Because he’s a goalscorer, he gives this advice to me and some other players. So he’s just there to guide us. He used to tell me ‘don’t strike!’ but now he tells me ‘don’t strike just pass it, Ndidi told Dailymail

Ndidi and Leicester have the chance to reduce the 10 points gap between them and Liverpool when the leaders visit King Power Stadium on Boxing Day (Today).
