The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations bronze winner, rated Real Madrid striker as the best player he has ever played against in the Spanish League.
When asked the most difficult striker he has ever faced, Omeruo said: “Benzema. It’s not only because he is a good goalscorer, but he works hard and he is difficult to mark because of his positioning,” Omeruo told AS.
The last time he played against the former Lyon striker on October 30, 2019, Leganes lost 5-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu as Benzema grabbed a goal.
The Nigerian international missed the team's 1-0 loss against Sevilla last weekend after he coped a muscular injury in the closing minutes of the 2-1 loss to Barcelona a fortnight ago. But he will be expected to return to the starting line up as Leganes face Celta Vigo on Sunday.
