The Super Eagles star was on for the 90 minutes as Rangers qualified for the knockout stages of Europa League following a 1-1 draw with Swiss side, Young Boys on Thursday night at Ibrox Stadium.

It means, for the first time since 2011, Rangers will be playing European knockout football. Alfredo Morelos put Steven Gerrard’s side ahead in the 30th minute, and it looked like Rangers will be going through as Group winners until Borna Barisic fired into his own net in the 89th minute to set up a nervy finish.

However, Gers held on to go through as runners up behind Porto who defeated Feyenoord 3-2. Speaking after the match, Super Eagles star, Joe Aribo who played for the entire duration admitted they were disappointed to concede late in the match.

He revealed they have worked hard to finish as group winners, but are still happy to go through as runners up.

“The boys are buzzing, we wanted to get through the group, but when you know the circumstances of, if you had won, you would’ve topped the group, then there should be a disappointment, but we are just happy to go through, Aribo told Rangers Tv.

Aribo and his Rangers teammates will find out their opponents when the draws are made on Monday.
