Leicester City maintained their impressive winning run at the King Power Stadium by smashing struggling Everton 2-1 on Sunday night many thanks to the hero of the day, Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho.

Embattled Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho was the decisive factor for Brendan Rodgers side as he came off the bench in the second half to help Leicester City come from a goal down to shoot down the hard fighting Toffees.

The 23-year-old supplied the assist for Jamie Vardy’s equalizer before smashing home a late winner – his maiden Premier League goal of the 2019-2020 season.

The former Manchester City striker confessed it’s been tough having to watch from the sidelines as the Foxes rose to the of the English top flight but praised his mental strength that has helped him seen the situation as a learning process.

”I have been waiting for this opportunity, I know one day it’s going to come. I have been working hard in training everyday to make sure I keep up to the standard,” Iheanacho told Sky Sports as monitored by Soccernet.ng after the match.

”I am happy today, getting a goal and assisting Jamie so today was very good and it was fantastic with the whole team.

”You need to be strong mentally as a football player, it’s not easy not getting enough playing time.

”I know Jamie is a world class striker, I am behind him and learning a lot from him as well so I am happy and I know my chance will come.”
