Following his victory over Andy Ruiz which saw him became a two-time world heavyweight champions, a couple of notable personalities have congratulated Anthony Joshua.

The British Nigerian lost his titles to the Mexican in a stunning defeat back in June but gained his revenge six months later as he won in a unanimous decision.

The 30-year-old was declared the winner by all the judges with a 118-110, 118-110, and 119-109 scorecard. After the bout, the two-time heavyweight champion has been receiving congratulatory messages from different people around the globe.

Among the many people to send in congratulatory messages to Joshua is President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari praised Joshua for the way he came back from the first loss, while also saying he is an inspiration to Nigerians.

The downfall of a man is truly not the end of his life. There’s always another, and better day. This is a lesson we must all learn from Anthony Joshua, as a country.

— Muhammadu Buhari (@MBuhari) December 8, 2019

Also, Super Eagles star, Ahmed Musa congratulated Joshua on his victory. Musa who plays his football in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr attended the event.
