Acclimatizing with the Nigerian weather may be one difficult factor for some players that of Nigerian descent whenever they don the green and white jersey.
One of such players include Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, who said that he’s still adapting to the Nigerian weather as it was different from the weather in Germany.
Okoye earned his debut cap for the team when the Super Eagles played out a 1-1 draw against the five-time World Cup champions, the Samba Boys of Brazil in an international friendly last month.
The 20-year-old also explained training with the Super Eagles is different from training with his German club:
”It is different from German football. Of course in Germany, we do in pre-season hard work.
”Here with the Super Eagles, it’s everyday hard work no matter how the weather is or something else.
”It is really hard with these conditions, like 32 degrees, but I get used to it and it is getting better day by day.”
