in News, Nigeria

Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare has called for a total review of the football in the country after the Golden Eaglets' ouster from the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.

On Wednesday, Nigeria lost 3-1 to the Netherlands in the Round of 16 of the competition. Prior to the team's ouster, the Golden Eaglets topped Group B with six points after beating Hungary, Ecuador before losing 2-1 to Australia.

However, Dare, who was unimpressed with the performance of the team, said that Nigeria must exact greater responsibility from those charged with our football administration.

He made this known via his official twitter handle.

Nigeria’s performance at the Under -17 World Cup calls for a review. Indeed, our football administration at all levels calls for a review. We must exact greater responsibility from those charged with our football administration. Timely payment of salaries and allowances vital.
